Yes, this is Disara. But in the game I made her a Smuggler and not a Sith. Only reason why I did make her a Sith in this picture is because of how the Honor Guard looked when I was running a character through there. And I thought to myself, Disara would find a way to use their helmets to open giant bottles of beer.

Next year I’ll be adding a new convention to the list and it will be the first out of state comic convention that I’ve ever done. So I’ll be seeing some of you in Seattle at the Emerald City Comic Con. I’ll bring my art and all 3 issues of the Zombie Ranch comic.

Otherwise next year I’ll be doing the Long Beach Comic Expo (date TBA) and probably be at San Diego Comic Con again. Look forward to the new year and meeting new fans.

This year I have a costume planned for Sunday that weekend and the only thing I wish was that the Hernandez Brothers were at Long Beach Comic Con. Maybe not…because what if I mess up the costume entirely. If you can’t tell, I don’t cosplay that often because I really don’t have that physically fit as some other cosplayers. But I’m going to try to brave it out this one time.

But I look forward to seeing some of you at the LBCC. If anyone has any commissions they want done, feel free to let me know and I’ll have it ready for you when you come to the booth. I tend to charge $20 for 8×10 sketches. Anything more elaborate will raise the price, but the base price is $20. A sketch card is $5-$10 if you want something specific drawn on it and the price depends on what you request.

I like to roleplay out my characters and usually play on an RP server. And if you’ve ever been on an RP server, you always run into the “dark and brooding” characters that stand in the many dark corners of the tavern. Disara was created to counter that and tends to be the complete opposite of the gloomy characters.

Lately I’ve been playing Lord of the Rings online and joined one of the RP servers. And the Prancing Pony is filled with the Gloomy characters standing in dark corners. So Disara does what Disara does best, drink and make a fool of herself.

In the past she has made insulting assumptions of elves and paid witness to several bar fights.

The last time I played, Disara met up with a minstrel who didn’t heed Disara’s warnings on how she was a terrible musician. The minstrel was determined to teach Disara how to play the lute. This quick doodle was inspired by this RP session.

The nerd answer as to why I stumbled on to this is that I was drinking with a group of friends and one said “Which house in the Song of Fire and Ice series has a squirrel as a sigil?” and swore there was one that had a squirrel. I didn’t find a house with such a sigil, but I did stumble on to this…

What am I looking at? Was the first thing I thought. No matter, it still calls for theme music:

I saw on the google search “Squirrel Beer Bottle Cozy” and went…what the? And felt an urge to click the link and find out what it was. At first I thought someone made a cute little felt or knitted squirrel and then my eyes met the horror of what this creation.

I love how it says “The top of the bottle goes far enough for it to not touch your lips when you drink” but just wouldn’t be able to get beyond it’s constant horrified look when ever I went to take a drink.

When I die, please don’t turn me into a cozy of any sort.

However, I understand that this is possibly to help in cosplaying in post-apocalyptic style…but I still feel uncomfortable with a squirrel so close to my booze top.
